"Critics say" this is a disincentive to aspiration. Not sure I follow. Sure, it makes it harder for me to leave assets to freeloading children who haven't done a day's work in their lives, but on the basis that Inheritance Tax only kicks in when my wife and I are dead, I don't follow that it is a disincentive.
