There's still discussion about whether we are due another pension tax reform, since it's several months since the last one. The rate of tax relief on pension contributions may change. That might affect whether you should get your contribution in now while the rules are as they are, or instead wait until after the Budget.
"Any higher earners who are looking at paying into a pension, should think seriously about doing so before 16 March," said Tom McPhail, pensions expert at Hargreaves Lansdowne. "Conversely, for basic rate taxpayers, it may make sense to wait until after that date."
